Pink Skies

I took this photo a few weeks ago standing in the driveway of our cabin in the mountains.

SUNSET

The fire in the sky is dying
The mountains are tall and dark
The spirit of the day is flying
Sunset leaves its mark
The colors up on high are lovely
The air is clear and cool
An ending approaches mildly
Day and night begin a duel
But the light must give way sometime
And who will win, I'll bet
Is dark, mysterious nighttime
As day gives way to sunset

Have a fantastic weekend!

  1. Hi Debby,
How are you this wonderful Friday? I have wanted to ask you if you would like me to add you to my Blog Roll? Just leave me another comment sometime this week-end. You could add me to yours and maybe we can get some traffic coming your way. I worked all day these last couple days redecorating my spare bedroom. All pink and roses, it has been so fun found a great picture at Hobby Lobby. It really needs paint and carpet but I feel the time is not right.
I just loved your apron idea!! Really cute.
The post on the beauty of dying was packed with goodies. Okay maybe this comment should of been an e-mail LOL!

  3. Debby, thanks so much for your visit and comment on my blog! I have had a lot of fun exploring YOUR lovely blog!

This was a really beautiful photo, and I love that verse. I was so reminded of God's majestic work this past week. After returning from being evacuated for four days because of a wildfire that came within a mile of our home, my husband and I watched a full moon rise over the mountain peaks that had protected us. The sky did indeed proclaim the glorious work of His hand. A hand that stretched down and rescued us.

    GOD BLESS!

(I have become your newest follower, and have gladly added you to my blog roll!)

  5. Dear Debby
I smiled when I saw the name of your post. It reminds me of the times my sons were still small. When they were visiting friends and wanted to know how late they should come home, I always told them when you see the pink clouds.

  7. An absolutely beautiful photo. I seem to sleep too late for sunrises and am too busy for sunsets. It wasn't like that when I lived on the farm. Land stretching out so far and wide made it impossible to miss.

I've got to change this. By the way, your testing blog is an excellent idea!

    Blessings,
    Laura
    Hi Debby Raye,

    1. Your encouragement and comments have kept me on here...I still really don't know why I am doing this. I feel a little guilty sometimes when I use up time that I should be doing something else. I need to be creative so I need an outlet for that. When I see others' blogs I feel pretty inadequate, actually, but if I can be of any encouragement or blessing to someone else then that is really all I want. Again, I thank you for your sweet support :)

I hope your weekend is blessed!

  9. What a wonderful sight to wake up to. I might be able to get up earlier if I could see this. Nicely done. Being born and raised a country girl, I appreciate the things that nature shares with us.
