Vintage Jewelry Christmas Tree

I've been planning to get this post together all month and the time is almost gone!
I have been shopping and making goodies all day and I'm tired...
...so what better thing to do while I'm resting? 

Several years ago, after she passed away, I was given some of my mother-in-law's jewelry. 
She loved wearing jewelry everywhere she went and had quite a few beautiful vintage pieces. 
When it came time to give away some of her things, I was the recipient of most of it. 

For years it stayed in my jewelry box...
... until last year when I saw something on Pinterest that inspired me. 
When I saw this Heirloom Jewelry Christmas tree, I knew this is what I wanted to do.

I used this lovely blue amulet in a mosaic that I put together for another post several months ago.
The intricate detail of it just delights my soul whenever I look at it.

I just love this purple brooch which can also be worn on a chain.

It is the only piece that know where it originated from since it's inscribed on the back.

Does anyone remember Sarah Coventry jewelry? 

It was sold at home parties like Tupperware back in the 60's.

A sister of mine sold it for a while and I remember loving going through it all.

 Of course it isn't all that old but certainly looks as though it could be.

This choker-length necklace is absolutely another one of my favorites. 

The colors of the iridescent stones just make me happy whenever I look at it... 

...every which way you turn it, the stones change color. 

There were matching clip earrings at one point but I can no longer locate them. 

It is my thought that when some items were chosen for her burial, they were among them.

This set looks like something right out of Downton Abbey... 

...it is a necklace and bracelet set like none I have ever seen. 

It is linked together with very delicate scrollwork throughout and is very unique.

The metal scrolling is very soft and I would be afraid to wear it, fearing it getting caught on something. 

I would love to know where this came from and how old it is. 

I like to imagine it belonged to some Victorian countess that lived in a castle...

...perhaps high on a hilltop in Ireland...or somewhere. 

But probably not :)

I wore these earrings on some dressy occasions a time or two...
...certainly not something for everyday.
Unless your name is Elizabeth Taylor or Zsa Zsa Gabor :)

Another favorite...a beautiful amber brooch...I could just look at it all day.

And below, a bracelet with each link, a different color of stone...I love this opal one.



I just love seeing all of these pieces reflecting the lights of the tree.
