The Girls Next Door

Let me introduce you to the girls next door.
Actually they live directly behind me...
I guess you can consider that next door, depending on your perspective, right?

They are all such beautiful ladies too...
...quite voluptuous, I might even say.
I mean, look at the size of those.......well, I think you know where I'm going with this.

But, hey...curvy women are good, right??

There are three blondes...

...two gorgeous red-heads...

...two with lovely, silky black feathers locks...(get away from the camera, Blondie)....

...and one that is sporting a gorgeous salt and pepper do.

I can't keep their names straight but they are, in random order,
Marilyn, Jane, Dorothy, Audrey, Liz, Sofia, Natalie and Bridgette.
I tried getting them all together in one photo but it was like rounding up a bunch of chickens.

For the most part, they are pretty good neighbors and they behave themselves.
Every now and then though, they can get a little carried away...
...probably just one of the many hen parties they host on a regular basis.
And just the other day when I was sitting on the front porch,
I heard someone let out several annoyingly loud shrieks.
I swear it sounded like one of them had just laid and egg or something!

Ohhhh....it was an egg!

Happy Monday, y'all!

  7. They are indeed cuties. We have six black rock chickens which we enjoy immensely, they are such fun to sit and watch.

  13. Oh, the chickens next door are so charming. My sister used to have chickens in her back yard, and she would get fresh eggs all the time. I don't think I've ever seen blonde ones, how interesting. The salt and pepper one is sure pretty. Oh, and one of them laid an egg! That would really be something. Enjoy your neighbors, Debby.

  14. Oh, I so loved this...I think chickens are so photogenic. If you ever get the chance, read Once Upon a Flock: Life with My Soulful Chickens by Lauren Scheuer. It is a most enjoyable read and I bet you would love it. It is not lendable or I would lend it to you. I happend to get it when it was free...I am talking kindle edition of course.

  16. Beautiful! I never realized how pretty a chicken could be until people started going crazy about them and almost making them pets as well as enjoying their eggs.
