Leaves

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.
~Stanley Horowitz

I just love the sound of crunching leaves under my feet, don't you?

This is our front yard and there a lot of that crunching sound around here.

So...October came and went without much color...

...and then came November...and everything "popped"!

This week, everything changed.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice; let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it!
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

Psalm 96:11-12

Leaves
~by Elsie N. Brady

How silently they tumble down
And come to rest upon the ground
To lay a carpet, rich and rare,
Beneath the trees without a care,

Content to sleep, their work well done,
Colors gleaming in the sun.
At other times, they wildly fly
Until they nearly reach the sky.

Twisting, turning through the air
Till all the trees stand stark and bare.
Exhausted, drop to earth below
To wait, like children, for the snow.

On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.
Psalm 145:5

I hope your week is filled with the colors of God's love :)

  4. Hi Debby ... beautiful pictures ... thanks for sharing. I remember that kind of beauty when we lived in Michigan. Not much color here in Texas, but we love and are thankful for all of it.

  13. Wow Debby, what a wonderful sight to see in your front yard. Stunning color. Ours is pretty much gone. There is still one pretty maple out back, but other than that the trees are bare. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

    1. Jann, it was over a week ago when I took those photos and things have changed drastically :( All of those leaves that are on the ground in the pic have since been blown into the woods and the next day the ground was fully covered again. There are some still lingering but the colors have faded or turned brown...not too pretty anymore....oh well...ready for some snow now (if we are fortunate enough to get any this year). As always, thanks for having the party!
