The Colors of Love...a Note Card Collection

February is more than half way over already and Valentine's Day has come and gone...
...time is passing so quickly it seems.

And it's a perfect time for a notecard party at Vee's!

My beautiful, brilliant red roses are still looking just lovely...
...although they are nearly a week old since I received them a few days before Valentine's Day.

I couldn't resist playing with one of them as the snow was falling.
The contrast was remarkable...I added a little glitter to this one!
One of my sweet blogging friends said it reminded her of this verse in Isaiah,
"Though your sins be as scarlet, they are white as snow..."
How appropriate...there is no greater love than this!

So...I went out and about to snap some Valentine photos.
Say what you will about Walmart, it's a great place for Valentine photo ops.
The aisles were alive with pops of reds, pinks and purples.
They had these cute little guys...

...some gorgeous potted tulips...

...and colorful messages of love..flying high.

The funny thing is, on the next aisle over, guess what I saw?
Swimming pools and pool supplies!
Anybody ready for a swim???
I think several of you are for sure :)

We can always leave it to Walmart to rush the seasons a bit, can't we?
In a few weeks they just might have the Halloween candy out...lol!

Anyway, I hope your Valentine's Day week was filled with lovely colors...
...and lots of love!

Debby

  1. Beautiful photos! And don't you love it how the stores rush the season! It's pretty crazy, but I suspect that lots of them are hurting this year. In Walmart the other day there was a huge section of Christmas toys on very reduced sale. Evidently people weren't spending as much at Christmas as they had hoped. I think I'll hold off on the purchase of the pool. LOL

    1. I know around here the stores had a lot of Valentine stuff left over...we had a snow storm last Wed. and kept most of the shoppers away for a couple of days...that couldn't have been good for business. No swimming for me yet with this white skin :(

  2. How beautiful! We all love receiving cards like these. It's nice here today so some people are probably enjoying the pool. I need to sit outside and get some sun later! I love your choices for notecards my friend! Enjoy your day! Hugs!

    1. We spend quite a bit of time in Galax when we are at the cabin...have you been to the Rex Theater for the music shows? We have been going there for the past 10 years and have also been to Floyd a few times...also Stuart quite a few times. Southwest VA is beautiful. Thank you so much for following me! I plan to follow you right back :)

    2. Gosh, Debby, I'm so tired that I visited both without giving it a thought. I liked the beach just as much this month as I did last and I liked this post, too. Ha! All set now.

  14. Debbie, your post made me giggle -- who knew WalMart would "produce" such pretty images. Well done! I'm going to have to remember to bring my point and shot along with me when I visit CVS! They had some cute Valentine decor. Swimming pools! Yikes!!! The rose in the snow is a real winner.

Your February note cards are just so fun and full of beautiful, glittery color. My favorite is the rose in the glittery snow. xo

  16. A set of Valentine themed note cards would have come in handy this month. Clever of you to take advantage of Walmart's display and I have to admit, the glittery rose card is my favourite.

  25. Hi Debby! Leave it to you to find inspiration in WalMart! But I do love their holiday aisles. I could stand there for at least a half an hour looking over all the brightly colored things. I guess you did that too!
It was fun to see your rose and snow photo again. It's such a brilliant contrast, and your friend with the Isaiah quote hit the right note.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend. Any special plans? We had a ton of rain yesterday. Of course, it's snowing again today. Nope. No swimming pools in my future just yet! Lol!
    Blessings,
    Ceil

    1. Yes, I agree....the holiday aisles of Walmart are jam packed! Those roses lasted so long, in fact, I still have a few in a mason jar, milking the last bit of glory out them and just this morning hung the others to dry them. I snapped a few shots of them thinking I may use them in an upcoming post. We are having storms here today but no snow in the forecast ...for now :) Just hangin' out this weekend with no specials plans...except for barbecuing some ribs on the grill later on :) Have a great weekend, sweet friend!
