Isn't it a joy to receive a present from someone?
Especially when it is unexpected or given for no apparent reason...
...except for the fact that someone cared enough to give it.
Like this one, for instance.
I received this a couple of evenings ago on my way home from work.
When I entered the highway, there it was.
My commute is a short one, only about seven or eight minutes...
...and the closer I got to home, it kept getting better and better.
Totally unexpected. Totally from my Father.
It was a present for me and it was filled with His presence.
It was a present for me and it was filled with His presence.
For no apparent reason...
...except for the fact that He cared enough to give it
...except for the fact that He cared enough to give it
That's how He does things.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights
with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.
~James 1:17
The sky is the daily bread of the eyes.
~Ralph Waldo Emerson
What "presence" have you received from the Father this week?
Blessings!

OH YES!!! That is just like our God. I love that kind of presents.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky - beautiful gift!
ReplyDeleteWOW!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful!
Thanks for sharing it with me.
A beautiful post and gorgeous skies. On a couple of clear cold nights as we arrived home I looked up at the starry skies and was in awe of the crisp cold beauty of the stars. Thankful. Blessings. Pamela
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely treat! I love when you are in the right place at the right time and get to experience nature at its best. There is no doubt that someone created this beautiful world, is there?
ReplyDeleteYou have such a beautiful blog! And I love your sky pictures--you're right--truly a gift from God. Thanks for sharing the images for us to enjoy, too. I hope God blesses you with more surprise presents--and presence--today.
ReplyDeleteHi Janet! Thanks for visiting and for your sweet comment! I looked up your blog and am following now by email. I see we have a few things in common...the love of wildflowers, photography and the church of the Nazarene! I tried to leave you a message on your blog but the capcha kept getting me...timing out. I found out quickly when I started my blog last summer that little bugger will interfere with comments and possible traffic to your blog...you may want to think about removing it (just a friendly suggestion). Anyway, I am looking forward to following your posts on your lovely blog!

Such an amazing God. The artist above all others. A true gift giver. Thank you for sharing your gift. Yesterday He painted with snow here.
ReplyDeleteI love how He paints the sky. He shows off so that we can find the beauty!
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful Debby ... what a gift and you were able to capture that beautiful sky. Warms the heart, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteBlessings and thanks for sharing.

So beautiful! What a gift to see that sight on your way home AND that you had your camera with you! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI literally said OH MY GOODNESS out loud at the first sky shot. Never seen anything like it. Yes quite glad you had your camera with you! Stunningly beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Debby! This is so gorgeous, especially to the sensitive eye of an artist like you. Thank you for sharing it! Isn't it amazing how the light changes with every minute that goes by?
ReplyDeleteI had a similar experience this morning. I woke up early to the frigid day, and looking out my back window, I saw a beautiful sight. The sun was rising and spraying a red color straight up behind a tree in my neighbors backyard. It looked like the tree was on fire. It reminded me of Moses and the Burning Bush. I called my husband over to look, just in case I was seeing it wrong, and he agreed.
God speaks in so many beautiful and varied ways to his beautiful and varied children. We are so blessed!
Happy Monday :)

You were filled with such a beautiful sight! That is just glorious, isn't it? I was too, just today! I took pictures of the most beautiful day I've seen in quite sometime and it was up to 83! God does speak to us in many ways, indeed. Pleased I found your great blog.
