Is there anything that says "fall" better than a beautiful chrysanthemum?
I found a couple of beauties over the weekend and they were quite a bargain...
...two for $10...and they are quite a good size!
My mom always planted her mums in the ground and they would bloom every year.
I have never really had a green thumb like her, sorry to say.
I got them through the fall season and ended up throwing them out after the blooms were gone.
I bought them at a small farm store in Fancy Gap...they had so many to choose from.
Wonderful pumpkins too...also two large ones for $10...a bargain I thought!
I knew I would be bringing them back to enjoy at our home in NC but just for fun...
...played around with them a bit with the mountain view in the background...
...and on the porch of the cabin.

I could just look at them all day :)

Your close up photos are just gorgeous! Mums and pumpkins make Fall more special. I can't wait to go to the pumpkin patch. I love the view of the mountains. We hope to drive up to NC later this month! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you...mums do make a beautiful addition to all of the other fall colors!
DeleteThey are so colorful and cheerful. Mine has buds but no blooms yet. I like the different arrangements you made.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Susan...I made sure the ones I bought had plenty of unopened buds so they would last a while :)
DeleteThese are beautiful shots Debby! I love the color and the feeling of autumn you have created with the pumpkins. Great shots!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dawna!
DeleteYour photos are beautiful! They are so colorful. They make me smile! Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Sandy!
DeleteYour color choices are spectacular! So bright and cheer ...just like some of our colors here in NY State. I love how you put things together. Oh.........and btw, I adore your header!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Susannah
Aw...thanks, Susannah! I appreciate your kind comments!
DeleteSo very gorgeous. I love the color combination of the flowers. I too love your header.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa :)
DeleteBeautiful pictures! I plant some of mine in the ground too but they never last another season, they're so pretty and give a nice pop of color for the fall!
ReplyDeleteSome people have luck with this and others not so much. The ground where I live is red clay :( Thanks so much for stopping by!
DeleteLovely vignettes with your mums ! And when they are done, just plant them...seriously, I have done that for the last two years and mine came back...give it a try. I was so pleased this year to see mine doubled in size! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb, I have seen where this has been done and the sizes have absolutely doubled OR tripled! I my try it this year and see what happens...who knows??? :)
DeleteThose are beautiful colors, Debby, and the set up you did on the cabin steps looks like a postcard! I bought and planted some mums this weekend. I put them in pots, and they will usually last and re-bloom until mid-August here in the desert. Usually they just can't take the intense heat any longer and succumb :(. I just keep trying because they are so very pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you Carol...I just love them. Hopefully I will be able to make mine last too!
DeleteThe mums and pumpkins are beautiful! By the way I LOVE your header...just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Melinda!
DeleteSuch gorgeous colors of mums. They look so pretty with your pumpkins! Visiting from Mosaic Monday and new GFC follower! Hope you'll consider following back!
ReplyDeleteHello Diane! Thank you for your sweet comments and being my newest follower!
DeleteI can't wait to get my pumpkins and then stage them at the front of the house. The mums look so colourful, just gorgeous xx
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by, Chel :)

Roxy...thank you so much for your sweet comments! It is finally beginning to feel like fall and I am so loving it!
DeleteHave a great week :)
Hi Debby and your mums are gorgeous and I love the look on your steps too. That's a great mosaic too. You should print that out and frame it. Thank you for your kind words to me.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Awww...thanks, Sheila...you're a sweetie :)
DeleteBeautiful pictures! You really captured the colors of fall flowers! Have a wonderful day, Lori
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lori! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous pictures! Love the Fall colors! I have a new weekly link party which is live now and I would love if you stop by and link up this wonderful post! Hope to see you there! http://mariaelenasdecor.blogspot.com/ Hugs, Maria
ReplyDeleteHello Maria! Thank you for your sweet comment :) I have taken you up on your offer to join the party! Thanks for the invite!
DeleteYour flowers are stunning. Thanks tons for linking to Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeletethanks :)
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, your pictures are magazine worthy!!!! Just beautiful. I envy you having a home in the mountains of NC. That is one of my favorite places. I love mums too and have never planted them because we used to live in the woods. Now that we are in this house with FULL sun, I may try it:)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Mums. I have a pot of the orange colour and a bright yellow but I really like the fuchsia ones.
ReplyDeleteYes, that fuchsia one really drew me :) Thanks!
DeleteYou should plant them! Mine come back every year. Just remember to "pinch back until the 4th of July", that will make them bushier. Your photos are beautiful...I need a few new colors this year!
ReplyDeleteI may try it...the ground here is so hard. Thanks for the advice!
DeleteYes, they are simply gorgeous! God's handiwork, amazing! I love the look of mums. I planted them in the ground one year. They did fairly well, but I don't have ideal environment for them.
ReplyDeleteFYI, my blog address has changed. I'm already having a few regrets, but I hope I don't lose touch with my blogging friends who may have trouble finding me now.
The new address is href="http://dayleallenshockley.blogspot.com/"
Thank you, Dayle...I love just looking them next to the pumpkins :) I don't think they will do well in our ground here in NC either...hard, rocky, red clay...do you have that in TX? Thanks you giving the update on your new blog address. I don't think it has kept me from getting updates from you. I follow you through email and GFC and bloglovin' so I think I'm good. I really appreciate your letting me know :) Hope you are having fun in the RV too!
DeleteHi Debby! I love the arrangement in both places, so I know it will look fabulous at your house too. The colors really compliment each other.
ReplyDeleteAnd what a price too! The mum buckets I buy are at least $10, and sometimes $20 a piece. You did very well! And I love the last montage of pictures. So bright...So Fall!
Thank you for your visit too!
Ceil
Thanks for stopping by, Ceil!
DeleteOh my word, these are beautiful! I bought a few mums on sale too but the photos I took of them aren't near as good as these. You're very talented. I look forward to following you (just signed up)! Feel free to visit me any time.
ReplyDeleteAww....Angel, you are so sweet! Thank you for your kind comments and being my newest followers!
DeleteA beautiful feast for the eyes! Oh, these were gorgeous shots - the colors are so vibrant. God makes some really terrific stuff - and I think flowers might be in His top ten!!
ReplyDeleteGOD BLESS!
Sharon, you are so sweet. You are right about the flowers...the sky, the oceans, the mountains...I'd say that flowers are right up there with them! have a blessed weekend!
DeleteThey ARE gorgeous, and they look beautiful with the pumpkins. Thanks for sharing with Inspired Sunday at Sunday View.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Laura :)
DeleteGORGEOUS is the perfect word ... your garden and porch are beautiful, pumpkins too!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!
Blessings,
Cindy
You are too sweet, Cindy...thank you...and as always, thanks for hosting a great party!
DeleteDebby, yes there is nothing quite like Mums for Fall! I absolutely love the orange and purple color combo. I wanted a purple one for my porch, but there were not any decent plants left. I settled for rusty red and orange. I did learn a trick about Mums a few years ago. If you plant them in your garden cut them back to their base from Spring until July 4th. After that let them grow. That way they will not bloom before Fall. Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Thanks for the great tip! You may have just talked me into planting them! Thanks for hosting!
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sherry :)
DeleteSo beautiful, Debby. Your photos always inspire me! I just love that simple but perfect vignette on the porch steps. :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fall pics! Newest follower~
