So, I was out scouring the countryside,
I found this red gate, complete with Old Glory.
How appropriate!
And right down the road, I came upon this...
I really wanted to get a better photo but it was on a very busy road...
AND when I finally got up the nerve and pulled into the gated and chained driveway,
I thought I heard gun shots so I snapped this as quick as I could and SCRAMMED!!
It was probably just fireworks, but I wasn't taking any chances.
Then, just last evening, as I was out galavanting,
I came upon a perfect example of the RED, the WHITE and the BLUE !
Is he adorable or what?
I tried to get him to look at the camera so I started making donkey sounds.
Whatever was in that feeder was much more interesting than me.
My immitation did not impress him evidently...
My immitation did not impress him evidently...
...oh well...
So, I'll leave you with this reminder...as if you need one...

YOU'RE A GRAND OLD FLAG
by George M. Cohan
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave
.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
