Daddy's Hands...the Softer Side of Sandpaper

It has been thirteen years since he passed away.
It just doesn't seem possible.
Several times I have shared some things about my mom who passed in 2010,
but I have not posted anything about my dad on this blog.
So in honor of Father's Day, I would like to share a link from my other blog,
Memories from my Childhood...and other blessings.

Daddy's Hands...
The Softer Side of Sandpaper

Have a blessed day celebrating all of the great men in your lives!

  1. A heartwarming post honoring your precious father.

  2. Such a sweet and precious post, Debby. Your father looks like he was a very jolly man full of life and love :) Hugs to you!

  3. Beautiful. Happy Father's Day to your daddy.

  4. That was a very special tribute! You were blessed to have a father who loved your mother and showed you what that looked like. Beautiful!

  5. Hi Debby! What a great title. I love the 'softer side of sandpaper'. So many images in my mind...
God bless you for your tribute to your loving father. You know he's looking out for you every moment of the day.
Happy Father's Day to your husband too,

  6. Great tribute to your dad. Happy Father's Day, Debby!

  7. Loved reading about your dad and your title is so good! (Coming from a writer who is always trying to find good titles!)

    1. Aww...thanks Dotsie. He was one of a kind, for sure :)

  8. He looks absolutely wonderful! You will be joined in heaven!

  9. Your tribute to your dad was so touching!! I am glad that you shared it with your "new" blog readers.

  10. Heading over to check it out..

  11. OK, tearing up here. Such a sweet post, and it sounds like your daddy was a precious man. This was my second Father's Day without my dad. I miss him, but am so thankful that because of Jesus, I'll see him again one day!

One of my grandfathers was a carpenter. And he had rough, gnarled hands from all those years of manual labor. When I would look at his hands, especially when he occasionally preached at his little country church, I always thought of Jesus.

  12. Oh, Debby, that was just beautiful. How blessed you and your family were.

  13. He looked like a gentle soul! What a sweet tribute.

  14. Aw, Debby! What a wonderful tribute to your daddy. We were both blessed with wonderful daddys. Happy summer, sweet friend.
    Shelia ;)

  15. Oh what a sweet your picture!
    Heading off to the link...

Thank you for stopping by today! Your sweet comments are such an encouragement to me.
