I took this photo a few weeks ago standing in the driveway of our cabin in the mountains.
The fire in the sky is dying
The mountains are tall and dark
The spirit of the day is flying
Sunset leaves its mark
The colors up on high are lovely
The air is clear and cool
An ending approaches mildly
Day and night begin a duel
But the light must give way sometime
And who will win, I'll bet
Is dark, mysterious nighttime
As day gives way to sunset

Have a fantastic weekend!
Sharing this for Pink Saturday @
How are you this wonderful Friday? I have wanted to ask you if you would like me to add you to my Blog Roll? Just leave me another comment sometime this week-end. You could add me to yours and maybe we can get some traffic coming your way. I worked all day these last couple days redecorating my spare bedroom. All pink and roses, it has been so fun found a great picture at Hobby Lobby. It really needs paint and carpet but I feel the time is not right.
I just loved your apron idea!! Really cute.
The post on the beauty of dying was packed with goodies. Okay maybe this comment should of been an e-mail LOL!
Thanks Roxy! I am fine and I hope you are as well! Yes, I will add you to my blog roll....and you can do the same if you will. I am still getting the hang of this :) Thanks for all the sweet comments too.Delete
Have a blessed week.

Debby, thanks so much for your visit and comment on my blog! I have had a lot of fun exploring YOUR lovely blog!ReplyDelete
This was a really beautiful photo, and I love that verse. I was so reminded of God's majestic work this past week. After returning from being evacuated for four days because of a wildfire that came within a mile of our home, my husband and I watched a full moon rise over the mountain peaks that had protected us. The sky did indeed proclaim the glorious work of His hand. A hand that stretched down and rescued us.
(I have become your newest follower, and have gladly added you to my blog roll!)
Oh Sharon, how scary that must have been! I am so glad that the Lord protected you and your home and were able to return....have been reading about these terrible fires! God IS good! Thank you for following my blog and I too will add you to my blog roll!Delete
Have a blessed weekend!
Its a lovely Pink Saturday here on the open plains....praying that your day is blessed...I love HIS handy work...I love how the sky kisses the earth where I live!ReplyDelete
His handiwork is the best and I am sure you see the most awesome skies! Thank you for your comment and dropping by!Delete
Be blessed this weekend!
I smiled when I saw the name of your post. It reminds me of the times my sons were still small. When they were visiting friends and wanted to know how late they should come home, I always told them when you see the pink clouds.
What a sweet memory, Mia! I love the sky when it's pink...especially in the evening as we know it's a sign of a beautiful day coming up. Thanks for your comment and visiting me! Have a blessed weekend :)Delete
Aren't the colors amazing at sunset and sunrise! Great photograph and inspirational messages.ReplyDelete
Sunsets and sunrises are definitely two of my favorite things! Thank you for your sweet comment and coming by my blog.
An absolutely beautiful photo. I seem to sleep too late for sunrises and am too busy for sunsets. It wasn't like that when I lived on the farm. Land stretching out so far and wide made it impossible to miss.ReplyDelete
I've got to change this. By the way, your testing blog is an excellent idea!
Hi Debby Raye,
You're so right. I have a couple of friends who are excellent at being cheerful all the time. I'm working on it!
Thanks for stopping by to see me and your kind comments! I am actually one who gets up with the chickens but don't often get a glimpse of the sun coming up...too many trees in NC! I go out looking for sunsets when when I think it will be a pretty one :)Delete
Have a blessed week!
First of all.....you have more comments than I had my entire first 6 months!!! I knew you would.....I could tell you were going to be a fabulous blogger! You just have a knack for it. Beautiful post today! And I could just stare at your header all.....day....long.....lol. Have a great weekend!!!ReplyDelete
Your encouragement and comments have kept me on here...I still really don't know why I am doing this. I feel a little guilty sometimes when I use up time that I should be doing something else. I need to be creative so I need an outlet for that. When I see others' blogs I feel pretty inadequate, actually, but if I can be of any encouragement or blessing to someone else then that is really all I want. Again, I thank you for your sweet support :)Delete
I hope your weekend is blessed!
What a wonderful sight to wake up to. I might be able to get up earlier if I could see this. Nicely done. Being born and raised a country girl, I appreciate the things that nature shares with us.
Sometimes I wish I could sleep in! I seem to have this built in alarm clock that keeps waking me up! Thank you for your sweet comment :)Delete
Thanks, Dayle...have a blessed weekend!Delete
I love the way you captured the sunset and with the poem.ReplyDelete
Have a wonderful PS!
Thanks for your comment and visiting me! I would love a pink sky every night...it doesn't happen regularly here. I guess that is why they are so special when they happen!Delete
