♥ My Tardy Valentine ♥

So it's me again, late to the party, as I have been so much here lately.

It's been a month since I've last posted but wanted to get a quick one in
to tell y'all that I am still alive and kicking (for the most part)
and to wish you all a Happy Valentine's Day!

Jim and I have been keeping the roads hot in these parts lately (between the monsoons of rain)...
making a few planned and unplanned trips to NC and even SC.
In between our two trips to NC, we took an unplanned and very quick trip to SC.
A very dear, old friend of ours unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.
I've known him since I was a teen...he was "Cousin Jimmy" from West Virginia
when his Aunt Thelma lived across the street from me growing up in Ohio.
We went way back.
Jim and he worked together in Ohio as well and wouldn't you just know that the Lord
placed us all together in the same town in NC...and even in the same church!
His dear wife became one of my besties and we worshipped together for many years.
They had relocated to SC about a year ago after retirement to live close by to their younger grands. Kinda like us.
We just never know what tomorrow will bring, do we?

Our winter here has consisted of nothing much more than rain, rain and more rain.
To say that I am pretty sick of this weather is a huge understatement.
I must be perfectly honest and tell you that today the sun is shining brightly...but brutally cold!
I am biting at the bit to get out and return to my walking and exploring Haywood Hollow.
These poor little measly muscles of mine need help, y'all!

But despite all the rain, on those rare days when the sun decides to come out from behind the clouds,
you can rest assured that it will leave behind a treasure to end your day.

So who says Valentine's Day flowers always have to be red or pink?

NOBODY. 😊

RV living...gotta love it!
(maybe...maybe not)

So stay tuned...exciting new updates coming soon!
Here's just a little hint....

💗Love to all!💗

  4. That sunset is awesome! And call me a romantic, but I see a heart.

Miserable weather that refuses to quit is enough to mess with my sanctification. Hope yours rights itself. So are we all in this cold snap? I know I am.

The flowers are beautiful and just the right size bouquet for the RV. Someone was thinking! And what’re those pretty little things beside the bouquet, hmmmm?

So sorry about the shock of losing a dear one. It is never easy.

Come back soon and tell us more! I won’t speak for the others, but I am terribly nosy as you know.

  6. Fun to see that elevation of your future home. Sorry to hear about Jimmy. Hang in there, the rain will cease sometime. Our Seattle folk are tired of it, too.

  7. That sunset!

Brilliantly sunny here today ... yes, and brutally cold as well. The thermometer is sitting on zero as we speak and there's a real feel of minus 10.

So sorry to hear of your friend Jimmy's passing ... but so very thankful that he knew the Lord!

  10. A wetter winter I cannot remember. Yep, that relentless rain is here too. Sigh. But, as in your corner, the sun shone today! What a treat!

It is so good to see you pop up in my feed this evening . . . it's always wonderful to hear from a friend. So sorry to hear of your "cousin"/friend's passing so suddenly. I don't think we're ever "ready" to say goodbye to one we love.

Your Valentine flowers are lovely. No need for pink or red, especially when you have those yummy red strawberries to accompany! I am glad you closed the post with a peek at your new home! Exciting!!

  11. SO sorry to hear of your dear friend's passing. Oh, that is so sad, especially when it is sudden like that. I tell you, you are right, we just never do know what a day will bring forth. When we get some age on us, life seems so much more fragile and precious and uncertain. God, help us all. I LOVE your Valentine's flowers! Oh, those photos are just so pretty and homey looking. I hope you are feeling better, physically, and I am continuing to pray for you, my friend.

  15. Beautiful pictures dear friend. I am praying that you get some SUN soon! The weather here has been crazy to say the least. Warm one day and cold the next! Granny used to say this kind of weather was what made everyone sick. Of course my oldest daughter said that was an old timer saying....not so sure bout that! LOL! Hope you are feeling better. Love you. Hugs and blessings, Cindy

  21. I'm sorry for your loss! I can't wait to be on the road again! The flower arrangement is perfect for glamping,

We finally got some sun today! It's been so dreary/snowing/raining! We’ll have real cold weather this next week.

    The plans looks wonderful!!!

  22. I'm sorry about your friend. We've had rain quite a bit here, too! Thankful it's been mild or we would have been buried in snow!

That sunset photo is stunning! And your house blueprints! Exciting!

  23. Debby, I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Have you ever known there to be so many cloudy rainy days in one winter. We've been water logged here since Thanksgiving! The prettiest flowers are mixed cut flowers...those have always been my favorite. I like your new hair cut...a lot! I've recently had my hair trimmed and a new perm. My neighbor just stopped by, looked at my head and asked, did you get your hair cut? Who did it? That's all! She could have at least lied and said it looks okay. :) This is the same neighbor that told me my new glasses don't look good on my face. So, I haven't had the nerve to wear them. Oops! didn't mean to get carried away. :) Can't wait to see more of your house plans! Love, Henny

  24. I'm sorry to read about the loss of your friend, Debby. Life is very uncertain for all of us. We've had enormous amounts of rain here, too, but just now we are in a sunny stretch and I feel so much more energetic!
Your Valentine flowers are pretty, and you're right about them not needing to be pink or red. You make RV living look fun!

  25. Hello, It has been a transition for you in this season! But you will see the final results very soon, a lovely beautiful new home! I am sure you have been stretched and molded in many ways! I was just thinking about you last night and missing you! You are so blessed with so many people that comment to love and encourage you!
Hugs, Roxy PS Spring will come very soon...

  26. I'm so sorry for the difficult winter you've had Debby. Living in a small RV space with just rain outside must be very, very difficult. So sorry to hear about your dear friend passing away. Heart wrenching sadness for all! Love the look of your new house, and hoping that spring weather will bring a break in the rain, and excitement with the building process! Love those cut flowers, and of course the strawberries are a plus! Much love to you sweet friend!

  27. It's been mild and sunny here the past few days. I am sorry to hear about your dear friend passing away. Your flowers are lovely and I spy chocolate covered strawberries. Yum! Maybe because I mostly see you on Facebook, but I didn't clue in that you've been living in your RV. I can't imagine being in such close quarters for any length of time, but cleaning house must be a whizz (wink). No doubt you'll be glad when your new home is ready for you.

I'm wishing you glimpses of grace in unexpected places...

  28. Hi Debby. I'm sorry to hear about your friend. The older we get, it seems we begin to loose so many of our friends. I'm excited for you and impressed you're living in your RV for now. You always make everything look so beautiful with your photos. Thank you for your sweet words on my little laundry room. I've had a laundry closet and the best thing about it was I could close the doors! :)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
